Positive Discipline
Our school fosters good behavior through a program called "Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports" - PBIS for short. This means we continually look for and reward positive behavior rather than draw attention to negative behavior.
REWARDS
- Students are given a "dolphin tail" ticket from any staff member when caught doing the right thing.
- Every child who gets a ticket rings a gong at lunchtime and places the ticket in a drawing.
- Winners of the weekly drawing enjoy a special treat at lunch on Fridays.
- It's great to see students work diligently on their self-control and influencing others to do the same!

CONSEQUENCES
1. When a student breaks a rule, the name goes on the board as a reminder.
2. If the student doesn’t repeat the mistake, the name is erased at the end of that period – no consequences.
3. If a student repeats the misbehavior during the same class period, he or she loses 5 minutes of recess and will not get a good behavior stamp in the agenda.
4. Should a student break a rule again during the same class period, he or she loses an additional 5 minutes of recess, and so forth.
5. At the end of every class period, all names are erased and all students begin the next subject with a clean slate.
